BIG BANG TRIGOLBANDI WORKSHOP
IMA’S (International Multispecialty Arts’ School) with Doyen Diagnostic & Research Foundation ,Diagnostic partner of IMA’S successfully completed its 11th project on “BIG BANG TRIGOLBONDI WORKSHOP” held on the 21st & 22nd December’19 .Trigolbondi workshop was organized first time of its kind in Kolkata. Three international music maestros such as Pandit Gourishankar (Tabla),founder of School of Indian Percussion & Music Foundation(SIPM,www.austinsipm.org)Austin,Texas,USA,Brojeswar Mukherjee,vocalist,faculty member of ITCSRA,SHRUTINANDAN & SIPM ,Austin,Texas,USA & Indradeep Ghosh who is known as prince of violin & a faculty member of SIPM,Austin,Texas,USA.
In Big Bang Trigulbandi workshop, three of them were actively involved in teaching the participants the special skills of how to perform Indian Classical Music, how to control breathing,how to coincide with rhythm ,how to coincide with instrument .They also distinguished between swara(notes of the Indian musical scale) is also called sur .At a fundamental level they are similar to the solfa of western music ,these two notes are shadj (Sa)and pancham(Pa) and are referred to as achala Swar.
Three maestros presented a half an hour concert on Raag Bhopali (sa.re.ga.pa.dha.sa).They simply mesmerized the participants and other audience. They proved why they are so popular not only in India but also in International countries including USA,Europe and other places of world.
In an interview, they all three expressed their desire to start three different regular classes at IMA’S on tabla, vocal and violin under their mentorship .They agreed to operate the online classes in every month with a definite course module. They will depute their disciples to conduct regular classes every week .
Pt.Gourishankar also mentioned that they will put their best effort to pick up young talents from the institute and will offer them the opportunity to perform in abroad.
IMA’S in association with Doyen Diagnostic and Research Foundation, is trying to create meeting ground on traditional transmission along with New Generation Education
where Guru will remain in the centre point . Thus, IMA’S will be able to confirm its Guru Shishyo Parampara as mentioned in their brochure as it’s promise with a mission to bringing art into community.
