INTERNATIONAL MULTISPECIALTY ARTS’ SCHOOL
Successfully completed the 16th Workshop on Rabindra Sangeet ( Aaji e Basante) held on the 16th & 17th of March’20. Srimati Sanghamitra Gupta, eminent Rabindra Sangeet artist, mentor and critic also disciple of Late Guru Subinoy Roy facilitated the workshop. Pandit Gautam Roy, teacher & mentor of Rabindra Bharati University accompanied with table. Around 15 participants from the different parts of Kolkata attended the workshop.
The whole programme was conceptualised by Smt.Swarnali Pal who is a founder of IMA’S and also a disciple of Late Guru Subinoy Roy.
Before start of workshop portrait of Late Guru Subinoy Roy was garlanded with flower bouquette, the smell of agarbatti and candle light made the ambience to an eternal atmosphere. Smt.Sanghamitra Gupta paid homage to her Guru Late Subinoy Roy .
Pandit Gautam Roy was also reminiscing Late Guru Subinoy Roy as a great teacher, mentor and researcher of Tagore songs.
The workshop was started with an introduction of each individual participant. Smt.Sanghamitra Gupta initiated her teaching with describing the meaning of each line of Tagore’s song. With her melodious voice, she started singing every line of the song written and composed by Gurudeb Rabindranath and asked students to follow her. She was correcting the mistake. Sometimes she was also directing the students to follow the Swarolipi (Notation) originally created by Tagore himself. She suggested the students to follow the notation judiciously. She was advising the students to practice very seriously.
The following participants participated the workshop . All the participants were highly satisfied with this kind of workshop and many of them were eager to join bi-monthly(2 classes in a month) classes of Smt.Sanghamitra Gupta at IMA’S which would be started from the month of April’20.
IMA’S expressed gratitude to the mentor Smt.Sanghamitra Gupta, Sri Gautam Roy and all the participants attended Aaji e- Basante workshop.
